The standard transfer of photographs, video etc, is a straight copy of the material you supply us with, on to your specified Chosen Finished Movie Media
So, photographs will play one after another either on your CD/DVD or VHS
To make your movie more appealing we offer a range of extras for you to chose from.
EDITING - This can be from the simple cutting of unwanted portions, such as when you gave the camcorder to Granddad to use and he kept forgetting to press the stop button when recording, to adding effects such as picture in picture, slow/fast motion, instant replays of those funny moments that should really only be seen on you've been framed!
Movies and slide shows can get boring if overly long, so we can produce two types of movie for you. The edit for friends and family to watch, where we produce the main highlights of the trip or event and then the long version, which you may prefer to get out to remind you of all the good times that were recorded.
Take a wedding for example;
The short version would have the guests arriving, the groom preparing, the bride
arriving and entering the church. Followed by the vows and signing of the register.
The happy couple leaving the church, the guests as the official photographs
are being taken. The receiving line, the couple entering the room, speeches,
cutting of the cake, first dance, and a montage of clips to end. You would typically
expect a movie of between 20-30 minutes.
The long version would include more shots of the guests, maybe the bride getting ready at home, the groom in the church nervously waiting. A sample of the hymns and more of the service. Followed by more shots of the guests, both at the picture taking and the reception. The full speeches and clips of the guests enjoying themselves at the evening do. This movie would be more like an hour, or so, in length, maybe more depending on the amount of material we are given to work with and how much of the service you wanted to remain in.
Remember, we work for you, so you can have as much or as little in your movie, we can only make suggestions based on our large experience of making, and having to watch, movies.
Editing can take two forms. You can supply us with the exact information of which pieces you wish to be cut out and which are to be left in, or we can use our expertise in deciding how to do it, after discussions with yourself as to how you would like the finished movie to end up. If you decide on which editing points to use, then for VHS tapes, always run the tape to the very beginning and reset the counter to zero before noting the counter numbers for where you want the cut to begin and finish. Most camcorders use a time code and we use this code in ascertaining the cut points.
TRANSITIONS - This will generally be a fade or page turn for stills, i.e. photographs, or a fade for video. But you can chose from a variety of different ones, which can be seen on the sample products page or demonstration/test DVD sent to you upon request. A transition will ease the changes of a picture, making the movie more pleasing to the eye. If you leave this decision to us, then we take advice from you first on what sort of finished product you require and of course use ones suitable to the event being edited.
TITLES - Starting the movie with a title will help place those
memories. We can also add titles to all the important pieces of the movie, these
can be still titles, rolling titles, which come in from the bottom and leave
at the top of the screen, crawling from side to side, fading in and out, again
have a look at the samples here. Of course
you can have the end credits, giving the cameraman his due reward and name up
in lights!!
If you are having a DVD produced and opt for chapter points, then we can add
titles to the beginning of each chapter.
CHAPTERS - Just as commercial DVD's have chapter points, where you can pick a point in the movie to play, we can insert these in to your SVCD or DVD. For example, you send us pictures of your holidays in Tenerife, a movie of the skiing in France, and pictures of Disney Land. We can chapter these points and you can either watch all of your pictures from start to finish, or just choose to watch the latest skiing trip movie. If you wish we can also sub-divide the individual movies so that you can replay those favourite parts time and again.
BACKGROUND MUSIC - For that final effect, we can add background music, to complement the type of movie we are making. We suggest you supply your own music if you have a particular taste or favourite, otherwise we will apply suitable music, as we have in the past, to many satisfied customers.
PHOTOGRAPH / SLIDE / NEGATIVE IMPROVEMENT - It doesn't matter what state they are in, we can generally work on them to restore the picture to it's former glory, and if we feel it's not going to work we will contact you before incurring any costs to let you decide on whether we continue or not.
PHOTOGRAPHS - If you wish we can archive your photographs to a cd, so that you can access them from a pc, but not a DVD player. The photographs will not play as a video but you have access to any picture you wish by using windows explorer.
3D MOVIE EFFECT - Using the latest digital technology we can apply special effects to your still picture, making it appear to be a moving picture. This is quite a complex operation, and takes quite some time to produce, depending on the actual pictures selected. For this reason we will not give an accurate timescale for producing this type of movie, as we work to a quality end product, for you to enjoy. Please contact us personally with details of your photographs and your requirements for an approximate timescale. You can have transitions, titles and background music in this type of movie as well.
